Important Customer Update

Due to the recent measures implemented by the Government to control the spread of the COVID-19 virus, there will be some further changes to our business operations.

Our branches will be closed from Tuesday 31st March in keeping with the guidance of officials. Further updates on our re-opening will be communicated via email, social media and our website.

We urge everyone to exercise their personal responsibility and ensure the safety of you and your loved ones during this time.

As we continue to monitor the updates on COVID-19, our need to become more responsive to ensure the wellbeing of our patients and staff is certain. Our business is founded on the tenets of excellent customer service and even in weathering this uncertain storm, we continue to be customer and employee-centered in our decision-making.

New information from key health officials has raised a need for us to make some difficult but necessary decisions which are both customer and business impacting. The underlying measures will be implemented for the period Monday 23rd March – Saturday 4th April:

  • Postponement of eye examinations and contact lens fittings:
    On recommendation of the Centre for Disease Control (CDC), these services are considered unsafe at this time due to possible cross contamination
  • Updated Branch Opening Days:
    • Long Circular Mall, Port of Spain, Trincity Mall and Gulf City Mall will be open Tuesdays to Saturdays
    • Sangre Grande, Shops of Arima, Price Plaza and Barataria will be open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays

Only collection of outstanding jobs will be facilitated on these days via appointments.

Following this period, we will communicate further updates accordingly.

Our online store, www.eyewearsolutions.com, remains open for the purchase of prescription contact lenses, sunglasses and solutions. We offer the convenience of home delivery or in-store pick up.

We understand that some inconvenience will be experienced through these shifts, however it has become necessary to ensure we maintain a safe and comfortable business environment. The wellness of everyone remains critical to our operations and we remain committed to continuously updating our procedures as things evolve.

The safety and well-being of our customers, staff and their families has always been of importance to us at Ferreira Optical. We continue to keep a pulse on the concerns shared by varying publics on the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). We remain very agile during this time, keeping focused on the updates from the relevant health authorities and ensuring our implemented safety practices are current and relevant.

Upon your next visit, you may notice changes to our usual in-store customer experience. Based on the guidelines of local and international health organisations, we have put additional measures in place to mitigate against the unique risks from the virus. These measures ensure that we maintain a safe and comfortable environment for all.

Here are some of the measures we have in place:

  • Heightened health and safety practices by employees (including frequent hand washing, use of hand sanitizer, staying away from work due to illness, increased care in processing of eyewear at laboratory)
  • Increased cleaning of public areas (including cashier areas, frame displays, kitchens, bathrooms)
  • Discontinuation of physical contact (handshake) during customer greetings
  • Temporary removal of shared coffee and tea stations
  • Temporary removal of kids’ toy stations (in branches where applicable)
  • Sanitization of frames after customer usage during the selection process
  • Installation of instructional safety protocol signage in key areas

Moving forward we will keep our customers abreast of any further changes to the in-store experience if made, to support the maintenance of proper safety standards.
